HSI BasicPlus™ CPR, AED & First Aid for Adults teaches the critical skills needed to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in the workplace or community until professional help arrives. The programme blends interactive instruction with extensive skills practice to build knowledge, confidence and muscle memory.

Learning Objectives:

• By the end of the session participants will be able to:
• Assess scene safety and use the Primary Assessment to identify life-threatening conditions.
• Perform high-quality Adult CPR (30:2 ratio) with pocket mask and barrier devices.
• Operate an AED safely and follow its prompts.
• Provide effective care for airway obstructions (conscious & unconscious choking).
• Control severe bleeding, manage shock and position victims correctly.
• Identify and give first aid for critical medical emergencies (heart attack, stroke, diabetic, seizure, asthma, anaphylaxis).
• Manage environmental emergencies (burns, heat- or cold-related illness, poisoning, bites & stings).
• Demonstrate proper use of gloves, face shields and PPE to prevent cross-infection.
• Activate local EMS/Red Crescent effectively and hand over to advanced care.

Course Overview

The Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification prepares designated workplace first-aiders to manage a wide spectrum of adult medical and trauma emergencies until professional help arrives. The syllabus aligns with the latest UK Resuscitation Council & ILCOR guidelines and satisfies Saudi Labour Law requirements for medium- to high-risk environments.

• Manufacturing, logistics, construction & petro-chem workers
• Facility, HSE and security personnel
• Office, retail & hospitality staff in medium/high-risk sites
• Anyone selected by their employer to act as a primary workplace first-aider.

Learning Objectives:

• Conduct a scene survey, ensure personal safety and employ infection-control measures.
• Perform adult CPR (single- and two-rescuer) and operate an AED correctly.
• Manage unconscious casualties using the recovery position and airway monitoring.
• Control severe external bleeding, apply dressings, bandages and haemostatic agents.
• Recognise and treat shock, including hypovolaemic, anaphylactic and cardiogenic shock.
• Provide first aid for fractures, dislocations, sprains & spinal injuries (immobilisation).
• Treat burns, scalds, eye injuries and electrical injuries.
• Manage sudden medical emergencies: heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, seizure, poisoning.
