Course Outline / Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to MERP
- Importance of preparedness for medical emergencies
- Types of medical emergencies (cardiac arrest, fainting, bleeding, heat stroke,
etc.) - Key components of a Medical Emergency Response Plan
Module 2: Structure of the Emergency Response Team
- Roles: First Responder, Incident Commander, Medical Lead, Communication
Officer - Response chain and coordination flow
- Integration with external emergency services (ambulance, civil defense)
Module 3: Emergency Communication Protocols
- Internal alert system
- Using emergency contact lists
- Notification procedures for management and authorities
Module 4: First Aid and Immediate Response Basics
- ABC approach (Airway, Breathing, Circulation)
- CPR and use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Bleeding control, burns, fractures, choking, and unconscious casualties
Module 5: Preparing for the Mock Drill
- Site walk-through and hazard identification
- Drill design: scenario selection, timeline, and objectives
- Pre-drill briefing with participants
Live Mock Drill Execution
- Simulated medical emergency (e.g., worker collapse, injury, unconscious
casualty) - EReal-time response by designated team
- Timer-based assessment of alerting, treatment, evacuation, and coordination
- Observer checklist used by HSE/Trainer
Module 6: Post-Drill Evaluation and Debrief
- Debriefing with all participants
- Strengths, gaps, and corrective actions
- Documentation and report generation
- Update to ERP based on drill findings
Certification:
- Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon completing the training
and passing the assessment.
